Sindh Govt Teachers Finally Get Good News About Salary Rises

The Sindh government has increased the salaries of 4,425 contract teachers across the province from Rs 18,000 to Rs 25,000 a month, 24News reports.

In this regard, the provincial Ministry of Finance approved a budget of Rs 995.6 crore to pay for teachers’ salary increases for nine months from April to December 2022. Note here that the Sindh Cabinet already approved this decision on July 7th.

The increase comes after the provincial Department of Education submitted a summary to the Auditor General (AG) Sindh for approval.

It should be noted that under the administration of former President General (retired) Pervez Musharraf, these 4,425 teachers were enrolled in two federal programs, the National Human Development Commission (NCHD) and the Basic Education Community Schools (BECS).

However, after the 18th Amendment came into force, teachers came under the control of the Sindh government. Meanwhile, the decision to legalize these teachers has not yet been considered.
