School Fees in Abu Dhabi Will Increase This Year

The Abu Dhabi Ministry of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has published the Education Cost Index (ECI) which outlines the approved tuition fee structure for the 2023-24 school year.

The announcement comes after three years of holding tuition fees constant to help families during and after the pandemic.

The fee increase is based on the emirate’s Education Cost Index (ECI), produced in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Center for Statistics (SCAD), as well as each school’s Irtiqaa inspection results.

For the new school year, schools rated Exceptional in the 2021/22 school year have the opportunity to increase their fees by up to 3.94%, while those rated Very Good are entitled to one increase of 3.38%.

Schools rated Good can increase their enrollment by 2.81%, while schools rated Fair, Poor, and Very Poor can increase enrollment by up to 2.25%.

To qualify for a standard fee increase, schools must have been in operation for at least three years and comply with the approved revised fee structure.

The latest Irtiqaa inspection results show that 11 schools were rated Exceptional, 37 schools Very Good, 85 schools Good, 63 schools Acceptable and 1 school Poor.
