Authorities said Roberta Hysell was a former West Virginia city employee facing embezzlement and other charges.
A Mason County grand jury indicted him Tuesday, WSAZ-TV reported.
New Haven Mayor Phil Serevicz said Hysell was a city police officer and registrar.

Embezzlement Charges On Former Town Employee Roberta Hysell
As per the Mason County district attorney, a former New Haven city employee has been charged with embezzlement on seven counts.
On Tuesday, Roberta Hysell, 53, of New Haven was indicted by a Mason County grand jury.
Mayor Phil Serevicz confirmed to WSAZ that Hysell Serevicz is the city’s record holder and police officer.
It comes four days after former payroll employee Jessica Greene pleaded guilty to embezzling about 25,000 USD out of town for five years.
Serevicz says Greene and Hysell worked together and both were able to sign checks.
The board members were fired in September 2020.
Hysell is charged with embezzlement, fraudulent schemes, conspiracy, account forgery, computer fraud, pretext acquisition, and unemployment fraud.
What Police Have Investigated Up Till Now?
Former payroll clerk Jessica Greene pleaded guilty days earlier to embezzling about 25,000 USD from the city over nearly five years.
Greene and Hysell worked together and both were able to sign checks, Serevicz said.
Hysell is charged with embezzlement, fraudulent scheme, conspiracy, account falsification, computer fraud, fraud, and unemployment fraud.
