Paramedics Rhianna Higgins and Hattie Proctor came under fire after the TikTok dance clip.

A couple working for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service danced in the back of the work vehicle.

Trust’s official policy states that “social media will never be a priority for employees”. Social media users questioned his decision as the video has been viewed over 250,000 times.

A couple of paramedics received an angry reaction on social media after sharing a video of them dancing in the back of an ambulance.

Rhianna Higgins, 25, and her colleague Hattie Proctor did their breakdance in the back of their vehicle while on duty for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

Rhianna from Doncaster, South Yorkshire uploaded the video to TikTok with the caption: “Little Boogie on Break” and the hashtags #999, #emergency, and #uniform.

The video, which has now been viewed over 250,000 times, is divided on the internet.

It shows the fully uniformed couple performing a dance routine in the back of what appears to be an ambulance.

But the joke failed when hundreds of commentators criticized healthcare workers.

Female Paramedics Slammed

An unimpressed user wrote: “And people are wondering why it takes three hours for one to appear.”

Another commented: “Now I know why my grandmother was unsuccessful.”

Others asked why they prioritized making videos on TikTok and asked, “Shouldn’t you be saving lives?”

Another user added, “Wow God help us all if we call 999 just thinking of TikTok.”

While the happy clip made people share their disapproval and write negative comments, Rhianna’s dance also made others happy.

“Great video, it clearly says you were taking a break! I was probably trying to relax after saving a life!”, One said.

One woman wanted to share her support and left the following comment: “You’re taking a break, I can’t blame you.”

“Eight minutes to get my father back and save his life eight times. Great respect for the ambulance service!”

None of the women have responded to comments since uploading the TikTok video.

Other clips shared on Rhianna’s social media pages show paramedics dancing in the background.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service Statement

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust serves a population of five million and employs 4,500 people and 1,000 volunteers.

In an average year, YAS will respond to 700,000 emergency calls and perform one million patient transports.

YAS has been contacted for comment.

As per the most recently published online document, the YAS Employee Social Media Directive states: “At no time should the use of social media be given priority for employees; his treatment of the patient and ‘daily work’ always come first.”

“If an employee reveals that he works for YAS, he must ensure that his profile and the associated content match the expectations of the Foundation at work.”
