Prince Harry is accused of hypocrisy for blaming social media for ‘widespread disinformation’

In his surprising virtual appearance at the GQ Men of the Year Awards, Prince Harry blamed the media and social media for the “large-scale misinformation” that raised doubts about the Covid-19 vaccine worldwide.

The Duke of Sussex, who presented an award to the team behind the Oxford / AstraZeneca vaccine, criticized those who “lie and fear”.

The royal biographer Angela Levin commented on Harry’s speech, accusing the Duke of hypocrisy.

“Harry accuses” the media and social networks “of widespread misinformation. He and Meghan weren’t very late in their conversation with Oprah,” he said.

At the event, Harry warned, “Until all communities have access to the vaccine and all communities are connected to reliable information about the vaccine, we are all at risk.”

He said, “At this point, less than 2 percent of people in developing countries have received a single dose. And many health workers have not yet been vaccinated.”

The Duke of Sussex added: “We cannot move forward together unless we treat this imbalance as one.”
