Prince Harry Followed in Prince Andrew’s Footsteps: Here’s How

The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, followed in the footsteps of his uncle, Prince Andrew, by joining the war in Afghanistan, but Prince William was prevented from doing so.

According to a report in The Sun, while William wanted to join the war, the heir to the throne was unable to do so due to his position as future king.

Then-Army Chief General Sir Mike Jackson revealed this in a new ITV documentary due to air later this month.

The former army chief revealed Queen Elizabeth wanted her grandsons William and Harry to fight in Afghanistan.

He said: “She was very clear. She said: “My grandchildren took my shilling, so they must do their duty And that was it.”

“But it was decided that William, as heir to the heir, was too much of a risk.”

“But for his younger brother, the risk was acceptable.”

The report further claims that it shows Harry following in the footsteps of Prince Andrew, who also flew several helicopter missions during the 1982 Falklands War.

However, the then Prince of Wales, King Charles, was also forbidden to go to war.
