PCTB awards points for the compulsory Qur’an subject for Matric and Inter

The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) has awarded 100 points for the compulsory subject Quranic Translation at Matriculation and Intermediate level.

According to the details, the subject of Quran Translation is taught in both parts of Matric and Inter, each article is worth 50 points in Matric and Inter. An ethics topic is offered to non-Muslims at Matric and Inter.

Earlier this month, the Punjab government had ordered all Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) in Punjab to include a compulsory Qur’an translation subject in the Matric and Inter curricula.

The PCTB was responsible for designing the numbering formula for the Qur’an translation release. Discussion with the relevant stakeholders lasted almost a month and the PCTB finally decided on the numbers for the issue.

In a separate development, all business informatics in Punjab has set the dates for announcing the results of the Matric and Intermediate annual review.

The final result of class 10 will be announced on August 31st and class 9 on September 19th, while the results of class 12 will be announced on October 20th and class 11 on November 17th.
