Dubai has launched a new Nol card specifically tailored for school and university students, offering a host of exclusive benefits. Serving as an internationally recognized student ID, it provides access to a wide array of services and discounts globally.

Students can enjoy discounts of up to 70% and special deals at various Dubai retail establishments, including school and university canteens, simply by utilizing the Nol card for transactions.

Additionally, students can avail themselves of a 50% discount on public transportation throughout the UAE.

Salah Almarzooqi, Director of the Automated Collection Systems Department at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), announced plans to launch the card in September 2024, coinciding with the start of the new academic year.

Application for the card is facilitated through the Nol Pay app, with the convenience of home delivery for successful applicants. Existing student Nol cardholders can seamlessly upgrade to the new version upon its release.

The agreement to introduce this enhanced card was formalized between the RTA and the ISIC Association during the Mena Transport Congress and Exhibition. The ISIC card, recognized globally, validates student status and offers a plethora of discounts worldwide, enriching the student experience.

According to Mohammed Al Mudharreb, CEO of the Corporate Technology Support Services Sector at RTA, the collaboration aims to streamline student commutes through Dubai’s comprehensive public transport network, encompassing the Metro, tram, buses, and marine transport. Moreover, the new Nol card facilitates payments at schools and retail outlets. Parents can take charge of their children’s accounts through the new Nol card, overseeing balance top-ups and setting daily spending limits, thereby fostering responsible financial habits.
