NADRA Releases Nearly 100% Accurate “NADIR” Fingerprint System

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new biometric system called NADIR with an accuracy rate of over 99.5%.

Developed by NADRA software engineers, NADIR makes Pakistan one of the few countries to offer an Automated Finger Biometric Identification System (AFIS).

The announcement was made by NADRA President Tariq Malik on Twitter. The NNADRA President explained that this technology is expected to change the way biometric identification is used in civilian applications.

According to the President’s announcement, NADIR’s accuracy rate has been tested and found to be over 99.5% according to the Fingerprint Verification Competition (FVC), an internationally renowned benchmarking exercise conducted in Italy.

The introduction of NADIR is a good step to strengthen the country’s security infrastructure and provide more secure and reliable identification systems.

The NADRA President expressed confidence in NADIR’s potential to transform the biometric identification landscape in Pakistan. He also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of NADRA’s software engineers in developing this native technology.

The release of NADIR should pave the way for the development of other similar technologies at the local level. This will not only increase the technological progress of the country but also create new prospects for the software industry.

The introduction of NADIR was enthusiastically received by the public, who expect more secure and reliable identification systems.
