Microsoft Joins Intel, Google, And Amazon If They Don’t Attend CES 2022 In Person

With the rapid spread of the latest variant of COVID-19, Omicron, Microsoft has added itself to the list of companies that will not personally attend the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022.

In an email statement, Microsoft said the company will be attending CES remotely for Microsoft’s partner innovation experience and automotive press kit. The Verge, the first to post the news, said: “After reviewing the latest data on the rapidly evolving COVID environment, Microsoft has decided not to attend CES 2022 in person.”

Other companies, including General Motors Co., Alphabet Inc, Meta Platforms, Lenovo, Twitter, and Amazon, have also chosen not to attend the event in person.

CES officials have stated that the event will begin on January 5th and will last through January 8th. Officials also made it clear that “strict security measures” were in place, including vaccination requirements and the availability of COVID-19 masks and tests.
