Michael Keen was reported missing by his family on Monday. The Richland County’s Coroner Office said the body, found Monday in a quarry, is missing, Michael Keen, a student at the University of South Carolina.

The police said the man was reported missing near the quarry on Sunday. Investigators say Keen’s father heard from him after Keen said he was leaving J’s Corner restaurant and bar to go home.
This store is located on Rosewood Drive, off Bluff Road, and within walking distance of the State Fairgrounds.
Keen, 22, had a finance degree from the school.
Michael Keen’s Found Dead At Rock Quarry
Several police officers and cars responded Monday to the Vulcan Materials Company, located on Georgia Street.
Columbia Police Department deputy chief Melron Kelly said a SLED helicopter flew over the quarry Monday morning at the request of the CPD. The body was discovered while it was flying about 200 meters above the ground.
Officials said they walked to confirm what they saw and found the person they would only refer to as a white man.
The discovery came while police were looking for Michael Keen, 22, a student at the University of South Carolina. The police have not confirmed whether this discovery is in any way related to the investigation.
However, this man had been reported missing less than a mile from the quarry.

Two people were found dead in the same quarry last year. Last year, a man was killed in an industrial accident on the premises.
And in October 2020, a University of South Carolina student was found dead after jumping over a fence and falling, sustaining an injury that killed him.
