Louis Vignone was a postman who was shot and killed by former neighbor Eric Kortz in the township of Collier.
Collier Township police said a gunman opened fire on a postman Thursday morning while delivering mail.
The accused told investigators he believed the victim had poisoned him, as per the report.

US Postal Worker Fatally Shot Dead in Collier Township
The shooting took place shortly after 10 a.m. on Columbia Avenue, near the intersection with Suburban Avenue.
Neighbors told KDKA that they heard several gunshots and saw a vehicle leaving the area. Someone called 911 and the Collier Township police arrived and found the postman identified as Louis Vignone, 58, of Moon Township, shot dead.
Authorities say he has been shot several times, including in the head.
After the shooting, police said the suspect, identified as Eric M. Kortz, parked his truck in the Carnegie Police Department parking lot and entered the police station.
There were no police at that time because they were all working on the scene. The assailant reportedly told the department secretary that he wanted to surrender. She asked him to wait for an officer to arrive.
What Was The Motive of Eric M. Kortz?
As per the court records, Kortz told police he shot Vignone because he believed the postman and his family poisoned him with cyanide while the two neighbors were around.
What Police Have Investigated Up Till Now?
Court documents say Kortz told investigators he found Vignone in his mail, then “shot him a few bullets” before dropping his gun, getting into his truck, and driving to the apartment.
The suspect followed Vignone’s mail and reportedly admitted to investigators that he left Thursday to “shoot a few bullets” at his former neighbor.
After the fatal shooting, Kortz reportedly went to the police station to surrender. He is accused of the murder of Vignone.
Authorities found a weapon and seven cartridge cases at the scene, as per the report.
