Kevin Norman was an England fan who “hadn’t missed a game since the 1990s” and was found dead in a Venice canal ahead of the team’s game against San Marino.
Watfords Norman was close to qualifying for the 2022 World Cup on Monday night but died hours before the game.

Watford’s father was spotted on the famous Grand Canal just before 7 a.m.
His body was washed ashore and pronounced dead. Kevin was identified by a credit card found in his pocket.
Italian police are open to his death and have questioned his friends who are staying with him in a hotel in Venice.
They await the result of an autopsy before deciding whether or not to open a criminal investigation.
Friends and Watford fans have called Kevin a “legend” and many have urged the club to pay tribute to him in their home game against Manchester United on Saturday.

If the club agrees, there will be applause in memory of Kevin in the 60th minute.
A message to a fan group on Facebook read: “Very sad to announce the death of Watford and England fan Kev Norman.”
“Kev died of an accident in Venice on his way to the game against San Marino.”
“He hadn’t missed a game against England since the 1990s and our hearts go out to his family and friends today. Apparently, the man was a legend! RIP-Kev.”
In another tribute, Scot Rainbow wrote: “From the bottom of my heart I share the news of Kevin’s death.”
