Kate Middleton received a warm welcome from sports fans as she watched England’s Rugby League World Cup quarter-final match against Papua New Guinea on Saturday.

The Princess of Wales was praised for her positive attitude as she welcomed players from both teams to the DW Stadium in Wigan over the weekend.

Kate, 40, beamed as she took to the field in a long red Alexander McQueen coat.

Despite the cold and rainy weather, the princess was spotted holding a large umbrella as she shook hands with players from both teams.

It was his first game appearance since taking over as Royal Patron of the Rugby Football League (RFL) from Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex.

Kate’s performance in the game was immensely praised and loved by royal fans. She was praised by many for taking the time to chat with the players and say hello to the young pets.

“Lol Kate Middleton will delay launch,” joked one user. Another wrote: “I loved that Kate Middleton spoke so openly with the players and took the time to say hello to everyone but why didn’t they start earlier so the game could start on time?”

“Fair game for that Kate Middleton, when she stops to talk to all the players and mascots on the roster she usually just walks by,” added another.

One netizen noted, “It took him longer than usual to talk to all the players and even the pets.”
