Intel’s First High-end Gaming GPUs Will Arrive in Early 2022

Intel has chosen a name for its first high-end gaming GPUs, which are expected to hit the market in early 2022.

These GPUs will be called Intel Arc and will support high-end graphics cards from AMD and Nvidia.

The first line of Intel Arc GPUs will be codenamed Alchemist and will launch for desktops and laptops in the first quarter of 2022.

Intel also revealed the names of the next generations, which will be Battlemage, Celestial, and Druid.

Intel Arc GPUs are based on the Xe-HPG microarchitecture, a combination of the Xe LP, HP, and HPC microarchitectures.

As per Intel, the Xe HPG architecture should allow for scalability and computational efficiency with advanced graphics capabilities.

These graphics cards support hardware-based ray tracing, mesh shading, variable speed shading, and DirectX12 Ultimate.

These cards will also be able to perform “artificial intelligence-based supersampling” to support Nvidia’s deep learning supersampling scaling technology that increases resolution without putting pressure on the GPU.

Intel also showed a short video of the Arc graphics cards in use in various games. The games featured in the video were Forza Horizon 4, PUBG, Metro Exodus, etc. It seems that Intel GPUs can run Crysis.

Intel has committed to providing more details on Intel Arc later this year.
