How To Get A 3-Year UAE Work Visa?

The Federal National Council (FNC), the parliamentary body of the United Arab Emirates, has decided to extend the duration of work permits from two to three years. This decision was made to reduce the cost of obtaining a work permit.

It is currently illegal to work in the United Arab Emirates without a valid permit issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emirates.

The three-year extension of the work permit proposed by the FNC’s Financial, Economic, and Industrial Affairs Commission was accepted. The committee also proposed other measures, such as waiving work permit fees when changing jobs.

The FNC also approved the requirement that employees remain with the company for at least one year after the probationary period, although this can be waived with the employer’s consent.

According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization, more than 72,000 inspection visits have been conducted across the country, including investigations into possible cases of fraudulent Emiratization.

A total of 430 cases were uncovered and forwarded to the public prosecutor’s office. 20 companies were reported to prosecutors in January 2023 for violating Emirati law, and the owner and director of a private company were jailed for cheating on 296 Emirati Nafis participants.

Private sector companies are required by federal law to increase the proportion of Emirati employees. Companies with 50 or more employees had to employ at least 2% Emiratis in qualified jobs at the end of the previous year.

Companies must increase this rate to 3% by June 30 this year, and it must reach 4% by the end of the year.
