The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) revealed in its latest statistics that Dubai registered over 4,482 private-sector medical facilities in 2022, a massive 45% increase in 5 years.
In addition to healthcare facilities, Dubai has also seen a whopping 61% increase in the number of licensed healthcare professionals, with the number reaching 55,208 over the past year.

Dr. Marwan al Mulla, executive director of DHA’s healthcare regulatory sector, attributed the growth to ease of the process, investment, location and modern infrastructure. He added that long-term thinking is also important in Dubai’s specialized healthcare sector.

Surprisingly, Dubai, UAE was ranked first in the Middle East and North America (MENA) region in the latest Medical Tourism Index, sixth in the world, and fifth in the Quality of Facilities and Services sub-index.

According to the Dubai Press Office, Dubai’s private sector includes 56 hospitals, 57-day surgery centers, 59 diagnostic centers, 21 specialized centers for the disabled, and 1,566 specialized outpatient clinics.
