Gavin has played football for Dundee United, Kilbirnie, Maryhill Juniors, Irvine Meadow, Alloa Athletic, and the Scotland national team during his career.
And he’s known for scoring one of the fastest goals in Maryhill history in 2.1 seconds against Clydebank.
His incredible goal from midfield made him an internet star and was featured on Sky Sports News.

In a tribute to Police Scotland, Gavin’s family wrote: “He was the life and soul of the party.”
“One of the most important things in Gavin’s life was being with his son, Freddie. Gavin and his partner Lauren raised him to be the best boy ever.”
“Freddie was everything to Gavin and spending time with him was his favorite thing to do.”
“Gavin was also dearly loved by his mother Alice, father Edward, sister Shannon, brother Garry and niece Isla and will be greatly missed.”
“He was a great footballer growing up and is known for scoring one of the fastest goals in the world in 2.1 seconds.”
“Gavin played for a number of football clubs in his time including Dundee United, Kilbirnie, Maryhill Juniors, Irvine Meadow, Alloa Athletic, Dundee United and the Scotland National Team to name a few.”
Sergeant Paul Mellis said: “Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the man who died in this accident.”
What Was The Police Investigation Report?
Police have named a Scottish footballer who died in a horrific car crash on a busy Glasgow road.
“Our investigation is ongoing and I urge any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to get in touch.”
“I would also like to receive a dashcam of motorists who were on this road at the time of the accident. Information can be forwarded to 101 with reference number 0221 of October 8th.”
