Darren Agee Merager is one of the main registered sex offenders, law enforcement has revealed.
In June, a group of women complained that a person identifying themselves as a woman had exposed his penis at the Wi Spa in Los Angeles.
The incident sparked months of protests, sometimes violent, and the media explained it as an example of bias towards transgender people or even that it did not happen.
Slate said it was a “transphobic hoax”.

What Was The Incident?
The Wi Spa arrived here below the house in June after someone recognized as a female took a walk with male genitals.
On the 23rd of June, several girls confronted employees at Wi Spa in Koreatown, Los Angeles, with allegations that someone discovered the woman’s male genitalia.
The video of the interaction was posted on Instagram the next day by a girl with the identity “Cubana Angel”.
“Can a man walk into the women’s area, show his penis to other women, little girls, minors, in your spa?” Asked the workers. Is a man! It’s a man! The three-and-a-half-minute video posted on social media quickly went viral.
“Cubana Angel” spoke to his lawyer at a press conference on July 7 in Pasadena. “As I left I noticed something really disturbing, something that made me feel like I was transported to the men’s locker room,” said the lady.
What Police Have Investigated Up Till Now?
Los Angeles Police have so far confirmed few details of the Wi Spa incident. Inquiries to the ministry were responded to with statements that the investigation was ‘ongoing’.
Then this week, Los Angeles County issued an arrest warrant for Darren Merager, 52, of Riverside, Calif.
On the basis of five crimes related to the Wi Spa incident. At the time of publication, Merager has not been arrested.
“Everything at Wi Spa was a bunch of garbage and lies,” Merager said in an interview.
She says she is legally female in California and was in a hot tub in the women’s section when approached by “Cubana Angel”.
“She has never seen me naked. He was underwater with water up to his chest. The manager denies being standing in the spa or being surrounded by children. He says he was sexually harassed by transphobic women at Wi Spa.”
Police sources have revealed that Merager is a high-level registered sex offender who was previously convicted of indecent exposure due to incidents in 2002 and 2003 in California. She declined to comment on the convictions.
In 2008, she was convicted of not registering as a sex offender.
A law passed by the California Democrats that took effect this year replaced the state’s lifetime registration with a tiered system. The law allows lower-level sex offenders to apply to be removed from the list.
However, a merger is not allowed due to pending criminal charges. She also has a long criminal history in California, spanning nearly a dozen convictions for crimes ranging from sex crimes to theft and breakthroughs.
