The Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED) has unveiled its latest academic offering – a 1.5-year Bachelor of Education (BEd) program, coinciding with the celebration of UNESCO’s sixth International Day of Education in 2024. This year’s theme revolves around advocating for inclusive and high-quality education for all.

In response to the significant challenges prevalent in the country’s educational landscape, including variations in educational standards, gender disparities in access to education, insufficient school facilities, and a shortage of qualified teachers, the new program aims to tackle these issues. It focuses on enhancing the capabilities of aspiring teachers and those in the early stages of their teaching careers.
