Afghanistan Crisis News: Prince Harry Urges Military Veterans To Support One Another Amid Taliban Takeover To Kabul

Prince Harry urged military veterans to “support each other” during the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.

The Duke of Sussex spent 10 years in the military, including two frontline trips to Afghanistan, and is a sponsor of the Invictus Games Foundation, which helps veterans recover through athletic competition.

In a statement with the organization’s president, Lord Allen of Kensington CBE, and CEO Dominic Reid OBE, Harry said: “What is happening in Afghanistan resonates with the international Invictus community.”

“Many participating countries and members of the Invictus Games family share a common experience of service in Afghanistan over the past two decades, and we have served with the Invictus Games team in Afghanistan for several years.”

“We encourage all members of the Invictus network and the entire military community to reach out and support each other.”

The Invictus Games have been postponed for two consecutive years due to the pandemic.

The next competition is scheduled for next year in The Hague, the Netherlands.
