9 November Iqbal Day Holiday: Govt Declared 9th Nov 2022 A Public Holiday

To commemorate Iqbal Day, the 145th birthday of Dr. Allama Mohammad Iqbal, the federal government has declared 9th November 2022 (Wednesday) a public holiday.

An official announcement said: “The Prime Minister has had the pleasure of requesting that November 9 (Iqbal Day) be honored as a public holiday.”

Millions of Muslims across the subcontinent have been blessed by Dr. Iqbal was greatly influenced in his search for a homeland for the free practice of Islam.

The day would begin with special prayers offered in mosques for the development and prosperity of Pakistan.

Allam Iqbal was Born in Sialkot on 9th November 1877, Iqbal is often referred to as the “Poet of the East” in Pakistan and other parts of the world.

Iqbal was a well-known poet and thinker. He is credited with creating poetry and using his political influence to call for the establishment of a Muslim homeland separate from other nations.

His speech in Allahabad in 1930 marked a turning point in pre-partition politics.

In his speech, Allama Iqbal gave the Muslims of the subcontinent a clear goal and a clear identity: Pakistan.

A changing of the guard will also take place at his grave in Lahore.

The federal government issued the decision to announce a public holiday.

The statement reads: “The Prime Minister has requested that 9th November (Iqbal Day) be observed as a public holiday from now on.”

All schools, colleges, universities, banks, and offices remain closed.
