Will The United Arab Emirates Introduce A 4-Day Work Week?

Reports claiming that the entire United Arab Emirates (UAE) has adopted a 4-day work week have been exposed as fake news. Only Sharjah has introduced this system while the others still operate with a 5-6 day week.

The Sharjah Executive Council reports that the introduction of a 4-day workweek has brought positive results. Employee productivity increased by 88%, attendance by 74%, and job satisfaction by 90%. In general, employees feel more comfortable in their job.

87% of employees reported an improvement in their mental health. These results demonstrate the success of this initiative in improving various aspects of employees’ work-life balance.

In this age of misinformation, as reports spread of a national 4-day-week policy in the UAE, it is imperative to separate fact from fake news.
