José Mourinho has been criticized in the past for lack of management skills on the part of the men, but a gesture to Eden Hazard during his second stint as Chelsea manager contradicts these assumptions.

The Belgian winger will face his former team in the semi-finals of the Champions League at the Bernabéu on Tuesday evening.

Since leaving for Madrid in the summer of 2019, Hazard has struggled to start work following several serious injuries. In fact, he has only made 15 appearances in all competitions for Los Blancos this season.

However, the talented winger will try to make a real impression against his former side in the first leg as fans remember how brilliant he was during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Fan favorite Hazard certainly had a fruitful time during his seven-year stay in West London.

There he won two Premier League titles and a memorable Europa League final against Arsenal.

His presence on the pitch was crucial throughout and a great example of his influence was a moment in the 2013 UEFA Super Cup against Bayern Munich.

After the 10-man Chelsea was beaten by the German team on penalties after a brave performance, the audience expressed their appreciation for coach José Mourinho.

However, Mourinho asked traveling fans to sing Hazard’s name instead after producing a premium display that pointed to the Belgian winger for a few seconds.

The question remains; Can Hazard come back to follow Chelsea on Tuesday night? Thomas Tuchel will certainly not underestimate the extreme.

“Eden is a great quality player,” said the Chelsea manager. “He has been the key player here for many, many years at this club and in this league, which is one of the toughest in the world and a difficult one when the games are decided as consistently as Eden did for this club.”

That’s why I have the greatest respect for him. Of course we talk a lot because he’s a great player for this club and of course we have a lot of people in the squad who know him very well.”

“And we’re not just talking about him because we played against him, but also about the experience and growth of this club and the experience and the great games they have had and the clashes they have in the league and in Europe had.”
