UAE To Increase Investment in Pakistan: Envoy

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to Pakistan Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi said on Wednesday that the United Arab Emirates intends to increase investment in Pakistan in new economic sectors.

The envoy, who met with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar at the Treasury Department, said the UAE is fully aware of the country’s pro-development economic policies pursued by the current government.

The finance minister said Pakistan and the UAE are engaged in various areas including energy, refining, oil, and trade, but there is still much-unexplored potential. He also highlighted various ways in which the two countries can trade and invest.

The two sides exchanged views on the Pakistani Prime Minister’s recent visit to the UAE and his meetings with UAE leaders and discussed the timely implementation of decisions made at these meetings to strengthen fraternal ties between the two countries.

The minister welcomed the UAE’s proposal for new investments in Pakistan and assured the envoy of the current government’s full support and cooperation.
