UAE Announced Online Classes After Heavy Rain

Many public schools in Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates have announced online classes after heavy rains wreaked havoc across the Emirates.

The decision comes in response to guidance from the local emergency, crisis, and disaster management team that students will be “studying from home” on January 26-27.

On 25th January public and private schools were forced to give early lunch to students from the cities of Kalba and Fujairah in Sharjah due to heavy downpours. Class trips for the next few days have also been canceled.

The school administration has informed parents via SMS and email that the weather forecast for Wednesday and Thursday is for rain showers of varying intensity, therefore all school trips planned for that week are suspended.

According to the National Meteorological Center (NCM), heavy rains, thunderstorms, and hail will continue to hit different parts of the country.
