Detailed Merit Calculation Guide

The final merit is a weighted average of your academic performance. Here are the step-by-step details:

  1. Matriculation (10% Weightage): Your marks in Matric (or O-Level equivalent) contribute 10% to the final aggregate.
    Formula: ((Obtained Marks / Total Marks) * 100) * 0.10
  2. Intermediate/FSc (40% Weightage): Your marks in Intermediate (or A-Level equivalent) are the second most important factor, carrying a 40% weightage.
    Formula: ((Obtained Marks / Total Marks) * 100) * 0.40
  3. Entry Test (50% Weightage): Your score in the COMSATS Entry Test (or other applicable tests like NTS NAT) is the most critical component, with a 50% weightage.
    Formula: ((Obtained Marks / Total Marks) * 100) * 0.50

Example Calculation:

Let's assume a student has the following scores:

  • Matric: 950 / 1050 marks
  • Intermediate: 880 / 1100 marks
  • Entry Test: 70 / 100 marks

The calculation would be:

Matric Points: ((950 / 1050) * 100) * 0.10 = 9.05
Intermediate Points: ((880 / 1100) * 100) * 0.40 = 32.00
Entry Test Points: ((70 / 100) * 100) * 0.50 = 35.00
Total Merit: 9.05 + 32.00 + 35.00 = 76.05%
