Mickey’s heartbreaking death comes five months after the monarch’s death on September 8, 2022. His funeral is scheduled for February 8 and many senior members of the royal family are expected to attend.
Mickey and the late Queen reportedly shared an extremely close bond, with the monarch trusting her enough to even sneak out in public with her.
An article from the 1970s said: “The Queen looks forward to seeing if she can go unnoticed outside of the royal context. Once she stood in line at the ticket booth unnoticed.”
“One night, as the slow-moving crowd filled the lobby, the manager recognized Micky Nevill and suddenly realized that deeply in love and amused, she was the Queen.”
Born Anne Camilla Evelyn Wallop to the 9th Earl of Portsmouth, Mickey married Lord Rupert Nevill, Treasurer and private secretary to the late Prince Philip, in 1944.
