The Sharjah Municipality has deployed more than 185 water tanks and pumping devices to help combat flooding caused by recent heavy rains in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This operation is part of the Supreme Committee’s plans for rain emergencies and aims to fix the road flooding that is causing severe traffic jams in various areas.
Rescue teams have already begun pumping water out of the flooded areas to allow traffic to flow freely. These teams work around the clock to deal with stormwater flooding issues in Sharjah and other parts of the UAE.

Senior city officials stressed the need for the measures and said they were making significant progress on Sharjah’s flood control efforts.
They also recommended people contact the community helpline to report flood-related damage, such as fallen trees or standing water. In this way, citizens can contribute to the effectiveness of municipal efforts.
