What do you know about Lamar Odom?

Almost as famous as on the basketball court. Lamar Odom had a very respectable NBA career, playing with the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, and Dallas Mavericks.

His professional career spanned 14 years, during which he averaged 13 points, eight rebounds, and three assists in 33 minutes per game.

Odom, two-time NBA champion with the Lakers in 2009 and 2010, made it to the playoffs in eight seasons, where his postseason averages reflected his regular-season career numbers. He last played in 2013 at the age of 33, then retired in 2014.

While with the Lakers, he met and later married Khloe Kardashian from the famous Kardashian family. Kardashian filed for divorce in 2013, which was finalized in July 2015.

Four months after the divorce, Odom was found unconscious in a Las Vegas brothel. She continued a very public spiral, and as the New York Times reported in 2015, her behavior at the time reflected drug, alcohol, and prostitution cases that had cropped up her entire life.

Since his life-threatening experience, until recently, Odom had largely disappeared from the public eye. Matching the boxing match with Carter, Odom had a film in the works that had just been released last month called Lamar Odom Reborn.

The film deals with his journey through his addiction and mental health problems and the processes he used to get out of the other side.

What do you know about Aaron Carter?

Like his partner in the ring, Aaron Carter has faced his fair share of demons. After taking up the stage as a solo pop artist in his childhood, Carter spent most of his life in public.

He is, of course, the younger brother of Nick Carter from The Backstreet Boys. In 1997, his first solo album, Aaron Carter, was released, which reached 5x platinum status.

The follow-up album Aaron’s Party from 2000 really got it on stage, with “I Want Candy”, “Bounce” and “That’s How I Beat Shaq” as the biggest hits. By the time he was 20, Carter had released six studio albums, including some compilation albums.

According to People Magazine in 2017, the artist had a number of legal issues including “an alleged DUI and drug possession”. The article has since cited deleted tweets in which it also allegedly claimed to have had an eating disorder that lost up to 115 pounds.

In 2018, Aaron Carter released his first album in 13 years, LOVE, which has a very different sound than his previous ones. While he hasn’t brought out a lot of new music over the years, he hasn’t struggled either.

Looking by year, fans will remember that Carter was on Dancing with the Stars in 2009 and filed for bankruptcy in 2013.

2020 was a difficult year for the singer as a suspected domestic violence victim, according to Access Hollywood. He also suffered personal emotional trauma after his girlfriend miscarried.
