Govt teachers in Punjab are likely to get vaccinated on priority basis

The Punjab provincial government has announced its plans to prioritize the vaccination of teachers and educational staff against the coronavirus in a bid to protect them from more infections and keep schools open at all costs.

He said that the provincial government is considering proposing the vaccination of all the eligible teachers under the current vaccination program and has already trained almost 127,000 teachers online during this pandemic.

He stated the classes for grades 9 to 12 are resuming in almost ten cities of Punjab from today, and added the rest of the classes will resume in phases after Eid-ul-Fitr if the situation is under control.

The government has instructed educational institutions to adhere strictly to the standard operating procedures, maintain social distancing, and wear face masks to curb the spread of the virus, Education Minister Murad Raas Said.

He suggested that since the classrooms of grades 1 to 8 will be empty, they can be spread throughout the school.

Murad Raas Said, Students will not be promoted without examinations this year, unlike last year.
