Emirates is Expanding Into New Cities

Emirates, one of the main airlines of the United Arab Emirates, has announced that it will be expanding its services to Sydney and Melbourne and restarting its Dubai-Christchurch (New Zealand) route via Sydney.

According to the information, Emirates will increase its operations on the Dubai-Melbourne route via Singapore from two to three daily flights from March 26, 2023, while the Dubai-Christchurch route remained suspended due to restrictions imposed by COVID-19 and will also be revived. On the same day. A third direct flight to Sydney will depart on May 1st.

The expansion follows the airline’s recent announcement of doubling daily flights to Brisbane, effective June 1.

Emirates will operate 63 weekly flights to Australia by mid-2023, with the capacity to carry more than 55,000 passengers per week between major cities.

The increased capacity will revitalize tourism by providing greater access to Australian destinations and increasing business and trade opportunities.

Regarding the expansion, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) said the new flights to Sydney and Melbourne will add around 500,000 additional seats to and from Australia within a year.

He also described the move as a huge success, showing Emirates’ longstanding commitment to flying in Australia.

Welcoming the news, Melbourne Airport CEO Lorie Argus said she was delighted to see the UAE’s airline expanding its network to Melbourne.
