Dubai’s Best School To Increase Teacher Salaries After Tuition Increase

GEMS, a Dubai-based private school, has announced that it will increase teacher salaries after the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) announced an increase in private tuition fees in the city.

Dino Varkey, CEO of GEMS Education Group, said he will start raising salaries for teachers in Indian schools in April and in international schools in September this year.

Overall enrollment in private schools in Dubai increased by 4.5%. In 3 years, 22 new schools were opened in the city, bringing their total to 216.

Fee Increase Allowed For Private Schools in Dubai

The KHDA recently allowed private schools in Dubai to increase tuition by 3% in the 2023-24 school year. The decision was announced after considering the city’s current economic situation and the operating costs of private schools in order to maintain quality education.

The amount by which schools can increase the tuition depends on the inspection qualification of the Dubai Schools Inspection Board.

Under the rules, private schools can increase fees by 3% while maintaining the same level of inspection. However, schools whose inspection scores have fallen are not eligible for a fee increase.
