Dubai, the main financial center of the United Arab Emirates, has been ranked as the second-best travel destination for ex-pats according to the 2022 Expat City Rankings by InterNations, a global ex-pat community platform.

The city received high marks for its ease of installation, with foreigners expressing satisfaction with the government services provided online and saying it was easy to negotiate with local authorities.

Valencia of Spain topped the list while Mexico City took third place. Surprisingly, Dubai received the highest score in the Expat Essentials Index and its Admin Topics subcategory.

Dubai ranks eighth in terms of ease of settling in, with ex-pats praising the city for its social life and feeling welcome. The city also ranks sixth in the Quality of Life Index.

The ex-pats in Dubai were also impressed by the infrastructure for vehicles, especially automobiles, and attached great importance to culture and nightlife as well as the variety of gastronomic offers. The city ranked sixth in the overseas labor index, with ex-pats praising the local business culture for encouraging creativity.

The annual Expat City Ranking 2022 survey evaluates the quality of life and satisfaction of around 12,000 expatriates from 177 nationalities. It is a valuable resource for ex-pats looking to relocate, providing information on the best countries and cities to live and work in.
