Chinese Government Scholarship 2024 (CGSP)
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has opened the application process for the Chinese Government Scholarship Program (CGSP) for the academic year 2024-25. This opportunity is available to Pakistani and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) nationals interested in pursuing Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. programs in renowned Chinese universities.
Administered jointly by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and the Chinese Ministry of Education, CGSP is designed to offer talented Pakistani students the chance to engage in academic studies and research at top-tier Chinese institutions.

Programs Offered
CSC Scholarships are available at the following academic levels:
- Undergraduate (4-5 years)
- Master’s (2-3 years)
- Doctoral (3-4 years)

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Pakistani or AJK nationals and permanent residents of Pakistan or AJK. Dual nationals are not eligible.
- Age criteria for each level of study.
- Relevant academic qualifications by the closing date.
- Meet the application requirements of CSC and the admission requirements of Chinese universities.
- Applicants must provide HAT or USAT test scores with a minimum score of 50 out of 100.
How to Apply
Applicants must apply online at both the CSC and HEC portals. Failure to apply at both portals will result in the non-consideration of applications. Ensure all supporting documents are provided in the required format.
HEC Online Portal
Apply through HEC’s Online Portal after profile registration.
CSC Online Portal
Apply through the CSC’s Online Portal by selecting program Type: A and Agency No. 5861.
Documents Required
Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit:
- Signed application forms from both HEC and CSC Online Portals.
- Attested copies of educational degrees, CNIC/B-form, Domicile, and equivalence certificates.
- Study plan or research proposal.
- Recommendation/reference letters for MS and Ph.D. candidates.
- Language proficiency certificates or IELTS/TOEFL/HSK score (if applicable).
- Passport copy is valid until March 1, 2025.
- Medical examination and police clearance certificates.
- NOC from the employer for employed applicants.

Benefits
Monthly stipends for CGSP 2024-25 recipients are as follows:
- Undergraduate: CNY 2,500
- Master’s: CNY 3,000
- Ph.D.: CNY 3,500
Chinese universities will cover education fees, administration costs, health insurance, and other academic-related expenses. However, travel expenditures are the responsibility of the scholarship recipients.

The application deadline for both HEC and CSC portals is Thursday, December 28, 2023 (23:59 PM Pakistan Standard Time).
