Most employees received a raise 1-2 years ago, while 15% received a raise 5 or more years ago.

The study, conducted by Tiger Recruitment, also found that workers in the UAE are more willing to change jobs for a better income than to negotiate with their employers.

Workers are uncomfortable negotiating their pay with employers as they have only given 27% of the 43% who spoke up a raise.

Zahra Clark, Tiger Recruitment’s director for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, found that people’s incomes were not meeting their expectations. He added that employers also justified not raising wages because they offer benefits to the worker.

He said that everything, including fuel, groceries, and rent, has become expensive, leaving people wanting to make more money.

To retain talented employees, Zahra encouraged companies to offer a reasonable and fair package.
