Pakistan Marks Day Of Mourning For Queen Elizabeth II Death
Pakistan will mark a day of mourning on Monday (September 12) following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
On the recommendation of the Foreign Ministry, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave his consent for a day of mourning for the death of the Queen to be held in Pakistan.
A related statement from the Cabinet Department said: “Following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Government of Pakistan has decided to mark a national day of mourning on September 12, 2022.”
“Pakistan’s national flag will fly at half-mast across the country on 12th September,” the statement added.
Britain’s longest-serving monarch died on Thursday aged 96 after reigning for 70 years. The Queen visited Pakistan twice during her reign, in 1961 and 1997.
