At least 10 people were killed and several others injured in stabbing attacks at 13 different locations in central Canada on Sunday, police said in a statement.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police Deputy Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore said the horrific series of stabbings had been reported in the James Smith Cree Nation and the nearby town of Weldon, Saskatchewan.

“Today, September 4, 2022, at 5:40 am. m. Within minutes, our DOCC received multiple calls reporting additional stabbings at various locations in the community,” the official statement said.

Police have identified two suspects, Damien Sanderson and Miles Sanderson, who are in their early 30s. A manhunt has been launched to apprehend the suspects.

“Damien Sanderson is described as a 31-year-old, 5’7″ tall, 155-pound male with black hair and brown eyes. Myles Sanderson is a 30-year-old, 6ft 1, 240lb man with brown hair and hazel eyes. Your photos are available on our social networks and websites.”

“Thinking of those who have lost loved ones and those who have been hurt,” he wrote on Twitter.
