Kanye West suffers $8.5 million loss for canceling Coachella appearance
Kanye West reportedly suffered a major loss by canceling his two-week appearance at Coachella 2022 just weeks before the event.
According to TMZ, the Donda 2 hitmaker lost $8 million after withdrawing from the highly anticipated show.
The outlet also reported that organizers also plan to pay the Chicago native $500,000 in production costs.
Additionally, the Post also claimed some insiders confirmed West’s plan to save his concert for a while, well before his statement on social media.
The 44-year-old reportedly never attended rehearsals for the show, unlike other performers who spend months preparing before taking the festival stage.

Additionally, organizers are now considering the appearance of The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia to headline the show in West’s stead.
“The Weeknd will receive what Kanye should earn for his participation,” The Sun reported.
