Pakistan received its first batch of 1.2 million doses of COVID-19 Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine through the COVAX program on May 8.

Now government sources have confirmed that the second shipment of the same number of doses will arrive in Pakistan next month.

Health Department sources confirmed they had received the information about the arrival of the second shipment of the AstraZeneca vaccine in June.

The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant for Health, Dr. Faisal Sultan said on Sunday that the AstraZeneca vaccine is only given to people over 40 years of age, according to the practice of many countries.
