Pakistan received its first batch of 1.2 million doses of COVID-19 Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine through the COVAX program on May 8.

Pakistan to develop its first domestic Corona vaccine

With the help of CanSino Biologics Inc. from China, Pakistan effectively develops its first Corona vaccine.

The assistant to the Prime Minister of the National Health Service, Dr. Faisal Sultan, went to Twitter and made the statement on Monday.

Dr. Sultan hailed the National Institute of Health for effectively delivering the antibody, adding that the move will increase the country’s immunization supply.

He added that the immunization created called PakVac has passed extensive testing and internal quality controls.

In April, the NIH authorities announced that they would start introducing CanSinoBio’s Covid immunization in May.

The NIH official pointed out that the raw material for the immunization arrived in Pakistan in early May, after which production of the antibody began immediately.
