Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has 800 career goals in a 3-2 win over Arsenal in the Premier League.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner increased his career goals to 801 by scoring twice for Manchester United on Thursday.

The 36-year-old double led him to 130 goals in two appearances for Manchester United, five for Sporting Lisbon, 450 for Real Madrid, 101 for Juventus, and 115 for Portugal.

Ronaldo recently said in an Instagram post: “Our thoughts are on the next game, we don’t have time to celebrate! Today’s win was very important to get back on track, but there is still a long way to go,” he said and encouraged his team-mates.

The 21-year-old hadn’t given United any goals or assists since his £73million summer trade until late November, when he had his best game for the Reds Devils, scoring his first goal in the 90th minute against Villarreal.

The latest feat of the “goal scorer machine” shows that he still has a clear advantage over almost all footballers. He pocketed the golden shoe in his final Serie A season with Juventus before sealing a glorious return to the club where he first appeared on the world stage.

He is also the all-time top scorer in international men’s football, the Champions League, and Real Madrid. His desire to be recognized as the best player to ever wear a pair of shoes is well documented and with the latest record, few could argue that he has not yet achieved his goal.
